October 15, 2008
This week we faced a lot of trials with investigators. It feels like all of our investigators are shutting down but i know from a blessing my companion gave me that The Lord does not abandon His missionaries. If we drop some, others will come. He will put others in our paths. I saw that this week. Monday infact we had a lesson with Speranza but she didnt show up, because she slept in. So we went to the park to meet a contact but he didnt show up either so rather than getting discouraged we stayed there and told ourselves that God wants us to work in this park. And the first 2 people rejected us so that we could have enough time for this lady who is prepared. Her name is Rosa and works with kids that have cereberal policy. She is religious but in her own way. Because she doesnt believe in the catholic church or other churches that make a mockery of God. She is excited to read the book of mormon and wants to meet with us. YEAH! Someone who is interested and who is normal and not crazy! I then had 2 neat experiences with the spirit yesterday. We went to serve Gian Luca and Emilia who are twin 14 year olds that have cerebral policy. They are a joy. Their smiles fill our hearts and i know that they feel the spirit when we sing hymns to them. I sang disney songs and children hymns to Emilia and i can only imagine a tenth part of her spirituality. It is sweet and full of light! I can explain how neat and special it was to hold her hand and sing to her for an hour. And then after English class two members who have been inactive for the longest time came and Barbera the younger sister asked us for a blessing. I cant express all that i felt and all that was said because it was very sacred but i saw first hand the love that Heavenly Father has for ALL of His children. It does not matter if we have been lost for a long time or if we have been with him since the begining. The Spirit spoke through Anziano Garofalo and he repeated the same words many different times which pierced her heart and ours. What a wonderful gift from God that she recieved and that i recieved last night as well.
Love, Elder Brewster
