January 30, 2008

Hello everyone!I know, i am awful! I didnt write last week and i am sorry for that but i was out of time... molto. Ok, i could type for hours about the experiences i have and all that i am doing but i dont have all of the time in the world so i will get to the most important things. My investigator Manolo was doing well with the stop smoking program for the first 2 days but then when i came back from 3 month conference (which was so great) he had smoked and was having a hard time. He was really sick again because he gets really dizzy and when he is having a hard time spiritually, mentally and is stressed his body freaks out. We met with him yesterday after he cancelled a few times because of scheduling and sickness. We taught him and it went really well. he looked like he was doing much better. the lesson went well, not perfect but really well, i noticed that it cant be perfect but if we do our best and improve a little at a time it will be great. He still wants to be baptized on the 16th of Feb. This surprized us because we have a lot to do before then and he has to be taught and stop smoking by feb 9 when he has his baptismal interview. We have faith and are trying to exercize it more. Faith really can move mountains but we truly have to believe with all our heart, might, mind and strength. We cant fake it. It has to be a part of us. We are also teaching Rachele from Gabon, Africa and her little boy davide. It is going well with them. They live just like the movie In Pursuit of Happyness. They live in a home that is basically for homeless and she is going to college. She is very religious and is the best mom, very patient and has the cutest son. It is very hard for her to pray and read the scriptures because of her home with the noise and little space. On monday we did a lesson at a little piazza with benches and it was really cold and dark outside but went so well. One played with davide while one taught Rachele and then we switched. It was great. We learned a lot about her and we are working to find her a place to live. On sunday we had a great experience at our investigators house in rome. They are in the rome 2 area but they are friends of the wanyama family who are members in our ward. They havent been in church for 3 weeks because jane has been sick (on bed rest basically). She had a surgery in june and now it came up again but she was praying with all of her heart and great changes appeared. We gave her a blessing and had the best conversations, laughing and love. Their appartment was very small and poor but the spirit in that home was so rich. I felt like i was home. There was such a great love and peace in that home. I felt like it was summer and sunny all day with the sun beaming down on our faces. I know that this gospel is true and that our Heavenly Father loves us so very much. I am very grateful for President Hinckley and the many things that he has taught me and what a great example he is to me. We found out monday morning before zone conference and we prayed as a companionship, individually and as a district. I know that he is so happy right now and that he is being welcomed with much thanks, gratitude and love. We are so blessed. i learned so much this week at my 3 month conference and at my zone conference. I am learning about the missionary that I want to be and the missionary that i am striving to become. I know that if we work as hard as we possibly can, that God will help us and bless us so very much. President Gordon B. Hinckley is a great example of that. He worked so hard and he was greatly blessed and strengthened. I know that God loves us and that our Savior loves us. That is what matters, and we often forget that. We need to never forget this and live the way that He wants us to and we will be blessed. Love, Anziano Brewster
